Jean Corlett Bardon passed away on Dec. 18, 2022, in Pacifica, where he was a longtime resident. Born in Alameda on Oct. 28, 1934, he grew up in San Francisco. He was the son of William Eugene Bardon and Ramona Florence (Lewin) Bardon, and the younger brother of Robert and Phillip, all of whom predeceased him.
Jean married Jeannette D’Haveloose on Feb. 19, 1955, and was a devoted husband to her for 67 years. They moved to Pacifica in 1960, where they raised their five children, including Bruce J. Bardon, Cherie J. Bardon, Tina D. Gradel, Timothy P.W. Bardon and Michelle M. Bardon. Jean is survived by his wife, Jeannette, their five children, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A man of many talents, Jean worked for a printing company, was a draftsman, owned a gas station, was a window cleaner in downtown San Francisco, and ultimately supervised a maintenance crew at PG&E for approximately 30 years, until he retired.
Jean received a pilot license and owned a 1976 Grumman Tiger. He was an early electric car enthusiast and owned an electrically converted 1960 Renault Caravelle. Jean dabbled in woodworking and created model airplanes out of aluminum cans. He loved to tell a good story, and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience with others, vividly recreating his adventures with humor and enthusiasm.
Jean will be laid to rest at the Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma. Cards may be sent to Jeannette Bardon, 540 Moana Way, Pacifica, CA 94044.
