Gerald John Trecroci passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022 at his home in Pacifica, CA. Born on February 8, 1940 in Wisconsin, to his parents Ernest and Jemella Trecroci. Gerald graduated from the School of Letters and Science with a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Wisconsin. He made his way to California, attending Graduate School at University of San Francisco to obtain his lifetime teaching credential.
Gerald had many diverse interests. As an undergraduate student, he majored in English and was proud of having read many of the worlds’ great authors. He loved art and collected many paintings and sculptures. He was a benefactor of Tom Jackson who created many sculptures of Don Quixote for him. Don Quixote was a man who chased many windmills in pursuit of the ideal.
He and his wife loved to travel and they explored most of the continents of the world. Among his favorites were the people and animals of Kenya and Tanzania. He was a proud member of “Occupy McDonalds” where good conversation with varying opinions occurred daily.
Gerald served as Trustee of the Laguna Salada School Board from 1979 to 1990, and was President for 3 and a half terms. He was also a member and past President of the Pacifica Rotary Club. He was proud of his time serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion.
Gerald is survived by his wife Jane Renstrom Trecroci; his children Anthony Trecroci, Daniel Trecroci (Jennifer); brother of Ernie Trecroci and Susan Paskiewicz; grandchildren Ben, Elizabeth, and Lucas Trecroci, and Emily and Jonathan Pedroso; Jane’s children Doug, Eric, and Carrie Nelson, and Lisa Pedroso (Marcos); and his first wife Susan Trecroci. Gerald was preceded in death by his sister Jean Trecroci and brother-in-law Jim Paskiewicz.
Friends may visit on Monday, December 12, 2022 after 6:15pm at St. Peter's Church, 700 Oddstad Blvd., Pacifica. Rosary Vigil will begin at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 11:00am, also at St. Peter's. Burial to follow at Skylawn Memorial Park, Colma.
