A five-vehicle crash on Highway 1 at Rockaway Beach Avenue snarled traffic for hours and sent two people to area hospitals with serious injuries on Tuesday afternoon.

Pacifica police say the incident occurred about 2:15 p.m. on Nov. 9. Details remain sketchy, but photos from the scene show a box truck and other cars and pickup trucks were involved.

A release from the police department says one person was taken to the hospital in critical condition and the other suffered “major injuries.”

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call Pacifica Police at (650) 738-7314 and reference case No. 21-3034.

With this being an extremely dangerous intersection why are there zero cameras still after all these years? These signals are in need of Maintenance checks, something isn't right here
