After Sen.-elect Cory Booker is sworn in today, five U.S. states will have had black senators.The Democrat is the first from New Jersey, which is now the first state to be represented by a black and a Latino senator at the same time.Including Booker, nine African-Americans have served in the U.S. Senate, eight Hispanics, six Asian-Americans and three Native Americans.
