On the first day of May, seniors pulled up a chair at the Pacifica Community Center to celebrate baseball.
With orange and black being the favored colors of the day and a dugout menu: hot dogs, cookies and orange Jell-O — seniors started their activities' lineup with a front row seat to the Frank Sinatra/Esther Williams/Gene Kelley 1949 box office smash "Take Me Out To the Ball Game."
At the noon hour, Emperor of Pacifica and Pacifica Historical Society member Frank Winston pitched a verbal homerun with his spirited reading of Ernest Lawrence Thayer's "Casey At The Bat."
A winning round of baseball bingo drove in a box of Cracker Jacks. Musician Dick Moody socked one right out of the park with his group led baseball
sing-a-long and Tribune writer Barbara Arietta sold tickets to the Giants/Chicago Cubs game you don't want to miss.That would be the one on June 30 at 7:15 p.m., invitation extended by the Pacifica Historical Society, to join an entourage of fellow Pacificans celebrating Pacifica's 50th year and the Giants 50th year in San Francisco.
