Born April 18, 1918 in Zalma, MO. Passed away on April 30, 2008 in Kirkland, Wash. Loving mother of Ken (Barbara) Henderson of Roseville, Calif.; Kandy (Rick) Holley of Bellevue, Wash.; and Kevin (Karen) Henderson of Fremont, Calif. Loving grandmother of Michelle (William) Kanada, Kerri (Cory) Coyle; Paul (Julie) Henderson; Jaime (Owen) Foreman; David Henderson; Matthew Henderson; Michael Holley; and Stacee Henderson. Loving great-grandmother of nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Paul Lee Henderson, sister Texie Miller, and brother Herb Bollinger. A wonderful homemaker who will be deeply missed. Formerly of Pacifica for over 25 years, she was residing in Bellevue, Wash.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Garden Chapel in South San Francisco May 9, 2008 and she will be interred at Golden Gate National Cemetery with her husband Paul. Arrangements under the direction of Golden Gate Chapel, 885 El Camino Real, South San Francisco (583-2510.)

Services Saturday for Donald Hinds

Donald William Hinds, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, April 25 at his residence in Pacifica.

He had a steady decline since a small stroke last October. He kept his mind all the way to the end and was able to visit and talk with his wife and everyone who came to visit.

He was born to Clyde and Fannie Hinds on a farm in Stroud, Oklahoma in 1922. Donald with his family came to California in 1936. Don worked through school helping his family doing farm work in the fields of the San Joaquin Valley. He did a tour of duty in the Navy serving in the Seabees. He went to Abilene Christian University (college) in Texas and then on to Vanderbilt University's Peabody College of Education and Human Development (college for teachers) in Tennessee receiving his Master of Arts.

He began his preaching career after graduation from Abilene Christian. He has preached throughout the U.S. and around the world doing mission work in Singapore,

BETTY MARION PELLY
Pakistan and the Philippine Islands. He preached in San Francisco starting in 1960 at the Mission Street Church of Christ and then later known as the Civic Center Church of Christ on Van Ness Avenue. In 2004 the church moved into their new building in Pacifica and became the Oceanview Church of Christ. Donald preached over 50 years and lived in Pacifica since 1963.

He is survived by his loving wife, Esther, three children, Calene, Stephen, David, and six grandchildren. One grandchild, Grant Hinds, just one week earlier, predeceased him. He is also survived by his two brothers, Kenneth and Harold.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service Saturday, May 10 at the Oceanview Church of Christ, 223 Clarendon Road, Pacifica at 11 a.m.

Donald was a selfless man and loved by many. He was a dedicated servant.

Betty Marion Pelly

April 19, 1928 — April 20, 2008

Betty Marion Pelly passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 20, 2008. She was born and raised a farmer's daughter in Medford, New Jersey in 1928. At the age of 19, Betty married Wilfred S. Pelly and they headed west to start their lives together in California. They eventually settled in Pacifica where they lived the past 54 years and raised four daughters, Linda Marshall, Sandra Clements, Bonnie Stellingwerf and Susan Olmanson.

Betty had a green thumb and seemed to be able to grow a variety of plants and flowers with ease. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved to get out for a drive. A favorite destination was down to the beach to watch the waves.

She will be deeply missed and is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, her four daughters, eight grand children; Alex Takada, Christopher Clements, Crystal Takada, Scott Clements, Demelza Cunningham, Nathaniel Clements, Cheri Hagstrom, Gwen Clements; and her seven great-grand children David, Sheyanne, Lillianah, Gavin, Skylar, Michael, and baby on the way. She will also be deeply missed by her sons in law Curt Stellingwerf, Ed Clements, Bruce Olmanson and also relatives residing out of state, Judy and Jack Young, Millie and Jack Pratt and Jim and Gloria Tindell.
